Ziedrich’s Blog’s 1st Anniversary!!!

April 30, 2011 Leave a comment

As you are aware of the post title, today is the 1st birthday of Ziedrich’s Blog! Yes, I made this blog website on April 30th 2010 and, to be honest, I didn’t have much high hopes for it going very far but…. In just one year, my blog has accumulated nearly 55,000 views and it’s still going strong!!!

Sure, it’s not the best blog website in the world, I’ve seen many blog’s do extremely well but don’t count me out though, I am doing pretty well myself thanks you all those who visit my site, download my wallpapers, submit my reviews and posts on their Facebook and Twitter walls (Mostly which I must thank Koei for that, thanks guys!)

Recently, I have been a bit inactive lately, I have quite a busy life and little spare time but fear not, it doesn’t mean I’m out for the count, I will find ways to post here and try to make some gaming reviews, more wallpapers to submit and post up any news in the world of gaming and wrestling.

As you can also see, I have put up a new wallpaper and news theme, even though there was only 4 votes in the theme poll, it still showed that some people would like to see change and change it what happened so thank you to those who had the decency to vote on that post.

All I ask is that you bare with me, patience is a virtue as they say and patience does give it’s own rewards!

Regards,

Martin aka Ziedrich

New Assassin’s Creed gets title announcement

April 29, 2011 Leave a comment

From what was said on IGN, the announcement of the 4th Assassin’s Creed title has been leaked “Early”, this is what IGN said:

“Forum members of NeoGAF managed to extract information from a Facebook page post, revealing Assassin’s Creed Revelations, likely the fourth major title for consoles following last year’s Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

We don’t know anything else about the title at the moment. The May issue of Game Informer will have the full reveal. The publisher will likely share more details at its E3 2011 press conference on June 6, too.”

They also said that Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy will be released for Nintendo 3DS sometime this year.

If anyone was quick with what Assassin’s Creed Facebook Page, they did post up a link of the new AC but was quickly withdrawn, I clicked the link but it just showed the AC page again so it looks like they nullified the link before it really got going.

My blog’s 1st anniversary will be on April 30th and I was thinking of changing the theme of the site, not the actual layout but the wallpaper and the blog pic above.

I have made 3 wallpapers and blog news pics and I will leave the choice of which one to use to you people, I will create a poll in which you can vote for which one you think should be the blog’s new theme once it’s birthday arrives.

I will post up the themes for you to examine and decide which one you think is best.

The Undertaker Theme

Leon Kennedy Theme

Lu Bu Theme

There are the 3 choices to choose from, Undertaker, Lu Bu and Leon Kennedy themes, the winner will be decided on the blog’s birthday on April 30th and will also be changed on the day too.

———————

Overall – The first hour of the PPV was just a complete mess, the Xscape match finished in a unexpected turn and most of the other matches either fell flat or just went on for too long. The knockouts title match I can understand, Mickie James is suffering from a shoulder injury before the PPV so they had to cut it short for her to win the belt and have a rest.

The best match was the Kurt Angle and JJ “Ultra Male” match, really had alot going and showed the most promising with a surprising finish. The world title match was just meh and so was the Lethal Lockdown match, all in all, it’s a below average PPV.

Alcon 2011 Convention

April 13, 2011 Leave a comment

This is a upcoming anime event that will take place on September 8th to 11th 2011, a 4 day event for anime fans and yours truly has been invited to the convention. This makes you wonder, you probably thought I wasn’t into anime since I never post up any news on it but I might not be a hardcore fan of anime, I do like to watch it although I’m not update date with the more modern ones such as Naruto, One Piece, etc, but I am a fan of Bleach and Ghost in the Shell series so I’m not totally out of date…. I just like the classics really such as Fist of the North Star and Street Fighter…. anyway!

The event takes place at the De Montfort University in Leicester and it’s a 4 day event starting from the 8th of September to the 11th of September. Passes to the event cost around £30 for all four days so it’s quite reasonable and there is on-site accommodation too if you can’t find a place to stay for a night or two, that will cost about £25 per night. The event has (Or will have) a dealers room, anime screenings, anime bar and night-club, artist ally, roleplaying, card-gaming, video-gaming, a cosplay cafe, DDRing, J-Culture, Cosplay Hangout, events, panels and many more things to come.

This is a great place to show off your cosplays and there is a special thing for people who register to the event, you have a choice of 3 groups, this is just something for fun during the event, when registering, you have a choice of 3 clans, the pirates, the ninjas or the vampires. Basically, the group with the most registered members wins the event at the end of it all, as I said, it’s just for fun so don’t feel too distracted if it costs extra.

For more details on how to register or just want to see the official website of the event, please visit this link provided

Hope you see some of you at Leicester on September!!!

If you want also, you can comment on a possible Wrestlemania 28 opponent for Undertaker but is there really anyone left for Undertaker to defeat? Please share you opinions!

30 Days of Gaming – Day 6: Jade Cocoon

April 7, 2011 Leave a comment

(This is just a short post about my opinions and notes on certain games in the next 30 days, this is pretty common on Facebook but they normally just ask themself a question and what game they think answers that question the best, not for me though, I will just talk about games for 30 days, lol)

Released in 1999, Jade Cocoon came out for the Playstation and it’s a game very similar to that of Pokemon and it was followed by a sequel that pretty much ruined the whole thing and so a third one never came to be, which is a shame coz this first one was very good, I almost like this more than Pokemon.

The game is set in a world covered in forests and there is a town called Syrus where the hero of the game lives and you are the young hero, Levant, his dream is wanting to become a Cocoon Master, but to become so, the boy must marry a Nagi woman. Levant marries his friend, Mahbu, and with the aid of the elder Nagi woman, Garai, the hero tries to find out the reason and to repel the attack by the Onibubu, a demon race that has put his village to a deep slumber.

The base of the game is the Minions in which the hero attacks and either defeats or captures and which he can use to fight in his stead, but in order to use them, you need to bring any recently captured minions to Mahbu in order to purify them and only then can you use them in battle. You can hold upto 4 minions and you can store others back at the village, if your low on money, you can tell Mahbu to turn minions into silk to sell, the better quality the minions, the more expensive the silk.

One of the best parts of the minion system is the ability to fuse minions together to make improved versions, some might look awesome after the fusion and some might look quite ugly but all the same, each fusion comes with some positives and negatives. The main part of each minion you have to remember the most is that each minion has a elemental strength which also means each one has a weakness, the 4 main elements are – Wind, Earth, Fire and Water and the weakness goes like this - Wind beats Earth beats Water beats Fire beats Wind. If your lucky with your fusions, you can make a monster that has multiple elemental strengths, even more so if you manage to make one that has all 4 elements.

This is when it differs from Pokemon, as you know, even the trainer can get involved in these fights and is always the first to start, you have to go into the summon section and pick which minion you want to replace you in combat. Capturing minions works almost like Pokemon, using a technique such as your flute and some luck after beating up your opponent, you can capture it, you have a limited amount of capture space so take them all back to Mahbu for purifying and then either fuse, equip or turn them into silk.

There are quite a few boss battles, most of them are actually challenging, it all depends on how well developed you and your minions are, still, most battles are fun and collecting and combining minions to finding the best sorts for your party can take many hours. After completing the game, you get the chance to play The Eternal Corridor in which you face a endless labyrinth of randomly generated elemental stages in which tests your battle skills to the max, it’s very good fun I must admit, got me entertained for weeks.

Thats it for Day 6 of 30 on my days of gaming….

30 Days of Gaming – Day 5: The Bouncer

April 5, 2011 Leave a comment

(This is just a short post about my opinions and notes on certain games in the next 30 days, this is pretty common on Facebook but they normally just ask themself a question and what game they think answers that question the best, not for me though, I will just talk about games for 30 days, lol)

Released in 2001, The Bouncer, came out for Playstation 2 and this is a game that many fans didn’t expect Square-ENIX (Squaresoft back in the day) to make a 3D beat m up and of course, it flopped big time, the sales and reviews were very mixed and thus the game never really gained a foot-hold. Square fired Dream Factory (The guys behind the project) not long after it’s release and thus the game just disappeared out of the gaming radar after a year or two.

Getting straight down to the point, The Bouncer was a underrated game, If you could just look past the long cut-scenes and very short story mode, stands a decent beat m up with much to offer and plenty of replay value and not to mention a very fun multiplayer mode.

The game is split into 3 modes, Story, Survival and Multiplayer

Story mode puts you in the role of 3 “bouncers”, Sion Barzahd, Kou Leifoh and Volt Krueger, doing their typical shift when their bar was overrun with troops called MSF, they beat up the guys and kidnapped Sion’s girlfriend, Dominique Cross. It soon becomes a fight for survival aswell as a rescue mission to save the girl that Sion loved as they pit themselves against the army of Dauragon C. Mikado, the head of a major cooperation, the fight takes them from their bar, to the streets, to Dauragon’s HQ and even the sky and space.

The combat system is pretty easy to remember, the main buttons all do attacks while the shoulder buttons do things like block and holding one while pressing an attack button unleashes a special attack, the special attacks for Sion, Kou and Volt can be purchased via story mode after each stage. How well your 3 characters develop also effects how hard the enemies are in story mode and beating bosses on harder levels improve them in multiplayer mode.

The major problem to Story mode was the fact that there is alot of cut-scenes which lasts as long as the gameplay itself, trying to fit alot in to such a short mode but the fighting itself was good and this was one of the first major games that used the ragdoll system, in which when knocked over or hit, the person acts like their have no bones in their body, it was funny sure but when 2 ragdolled people collide, it causes a chain reaction as the two bounce off each other and class it as another hit, you could lose tons of health if it happens at a corner.

In multiplayer mode, there is a choice of 2 matches, singles battle and team battle, singles battle can have upto 4 players and even though teaming up is possible, having a free for all battle is much more fun, choosing from a surprising number of playable characters, from such a short story mode, it fit alot of characters and each character is unlocked after beating them in story mode.

The team battle section, pits 2 teams against each other, each team has 3 players a side and it can be quite chaotic if all 6 of them are in such a small area so good thing there is alot of stages that vary in sizes from a huge factory to a small carrying ship. The winner is decided when the leader of a team is defeated, so not all members need to be knocked out in order to win/lose.

Survival mode pits you into a type of tower style battle where you have to progress down Dauragon’s factory, the mode is about 10 floors long but each one gets drastically harder so make sure you use a very well developed character before hand, beating survival mode will result in unlocking Sion’s secret outfit.

Thats it for Day 5 of 30 of my gaming articles….

Undertaker’s condition after Wrestlemania 27

April 5, 2011 55 comments

Yesterday, Paul Bearer (Percy Pringle) said on his twitter page that the Undertaker, after his brutal match with HHH at Wrestlemania 27, is doing alright.

Many people would’ve thought that after such a intense match and the aftermath, from the Undertaker collapsing and being taken away in a stretcher, he would be in quite a poor condition but your worries can now be put to one side, Undertaker is okay, just needs some rest to recover from such a great match.

Recently he has been advertised for a tag match for a live crowd during the Smackdown recordings this week, if this is the case, I hope he isn’t pushed too hard, after such a match, the guy needs a short holiday to recover.

All in all, I, aswell as many fans, should be glad that Undertaker is doing fine and is recovering nicely!
