Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues Trailer
The trailer to the upcoming DLC for Fallout New Veags, Old World Blues, has been released a few days ago. The video is a bit of a “Break from the norm” sort, showing a more humorous side to the game and it has been said that this 3rd major DLC will be the most humorous of all the Fallout New Vegas downloadable contents and from the trailer you will be below, they weren’t kidding.
Old World Blues DLC will be released for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC from July the 19th, expect it to be roughly the same price as the other two DLCs for New Vegas, from the looks of this trailer, I’d say expect the unexpected, it’s a bit of a mind ****!
Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues Information

Good news for Fallout New Vegas fans, the upcoming third major DLC, Old World Blues has got a official release date plus I have some information for what’s it about and a type of overview on what’s in store for players as they enter this DLC, first off, the release date.
Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues DLC will be released on July the 19th 2011 and it will be released for Xbox 360 via Live marketplace, PC and Playstation 3 via PSN on the same week so no hard feelings to any delays or exclusives this time around. Prices, well, you can probably take a wild guess, it will probably be the same as Honest Hearts and Dead Money but you have a couple of weeks to save up for it.
Story Plot
In Old World Blues you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You must scour the pre-war research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.
- Like all New Vegas add-ons, Old World Blues will raise the level cap by 5. Also, the add-on will offer a new trait (andrespec your own traits if you’ve already chosen them) that will allow you to cap your level at 30 (or current level if you’re already over 30).
- Old World Blues will, at some point, allow the player to alter the looks of their character.
- Equipment will not be stripped from the player at the beginning of this add-on, and it features an open-world setting.
- Like all New Vegas add-ons, companions cannot accompany the Courier to the new land.
- In Old World Blues, some robotic appliances have personalities, all with different voices.
- There will be a “home base” of sorts for use in this add-on.

I don’t know if this is actually the full character roster for Dynasty Warriors 7 (Shin Sangoku Musou 6), but this appears all of them from what I’ve seen on it’s unofficial facebook page. (http://www.facebook.com/dynastywarriors7)
This shows the characters in the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu, Other and the new kingdom, Jin. The total number of characters in Dynasty Warriors 7 is currently 62, which is the biggest selection of characters EVER in the entire DW history!

First Impressions – Ninety-Nine Nights 2
A demo of the game recently released for Xbox 360 and I decided to give it a go.
Before playing the demo, I was expecting the worst just like the first one but during the demo, I noticed alot of changes in the game’s system aswell as graphics
First of all, the graphics are noticeable, its gone from shiny armour and nice looking environment to a slightly more Lord of the Rings look, it makes the game look alot better and serious but compared to most games of today, it’s still out of fashion
Like most Dynasty Warriors clones, it tries to fit as many enemies in one screen for maximum carnage but this sacrifices detail on the soldiers and could mean lagging, it’s not always a good thing.
Since this is insane carnage, it’s been classed as “Extreme Hack n Slash” and also the age rating from the first one is drastic, N3 II is now a Mature/18+ only due to the mass gore and possible bad language.
One drastic difference I saw is they removed the insane specials that kills hundreds upon hundreds of enemies at once. It’s been replaced with a ability system, hold a shoulder button and press Y, X, B or A. If you played Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, this will sound familiar, thats because it uses the same system which is a bit of a let down as it’s not a original idea but it the effects it does is quite over-the-top
In the demo, you play 2 missions, one is technically a “kill them all” sort of level, the other is a short boss mission, I was really disappointed with the boss level as you could finish it in just mere minutes.
Apparently the full game is already out in America and Japan with no positive date for a european release.
In my view, if your into hack n slash/DW clone games, this might be worth the effort but with anything else, it’s probably best renting first to see if it gets your fancy.

Fist Of The North Star Full European Preview
Here is my full preview of the upcoming Koei game, Hokuto Musou or Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage in the English version
The game’s style of play should be familiar to most Koei players, if you have played Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors, and like it, you will like this. Although if your new to this sort of thing, you could be disappointed but we never know, you may love it after playing it for a couple of days.
The game is based on the 80s japanese anime series, Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star).
In a post-apocalyptic world after the nuclear war, the human race is in a desperate struggle to survive, they will do anything to live, steal, attack, even kill to gain power, money, food and water, it’s survival of the fittest but one man will fight to save the poor and destroy the power hungry gangs of this barren world, that man is Kenshiro.
Kenshiro is a master of a secret fighting art called Houkto Shinken, commonly translated as Divine Fist of the North Star, a deadly art in which should only be used if the user thinks it’s right to do so. He in search of his love, Yuria, who has been kidnapped by Shin, Kenshiro’s former friend now rival. Kenshiro also has another goal in mind, to defeat his brother, Raoh, who is “Conqueror of Century’s End” so the saying goes and is Kenshiro’s main rival.
Now….. If you heard or watched the anime, you will know that it’s very gory and has lots of blood with the odd nudity and rape so the anime is not for the faint-hearted but the game is a toned down version of the anime although the blood is still there so its still good for the fans at least
The music to the game is made by MASA, the man behind the Dynasty Warriors soundtracks so expect a mixture of orchestral and heavy rock, which kinda suits the theme of it.
The graphics looks quite detailed and the gameplay seems to be surprisingly fast, if you look past the slow movement that is. The voices can be altered in the european version from English to Japanese in the sound options which is good for fans, like myself.
There are alterations in the european version from the japanese version:
- More guts and gore
- The AI has been improved
- Hopefully some bugs fixed
- Slightly polished graphics
- The obvious english translation
The game has around 8 playable characters, good and evil characters, each with their own storylines when played in the story mode:
- Kenshiro
- Raoh
- Toki
- Jagi
- Rei
- Shin
- Mamiya
- Thouzer
- Heart (DLC release only)
The game also contains the following modes in the Main Menu:
Legend Mode – A mode completely focused on the story on Kenshiro as he goes through the world until he fights his rival, Raoh
Dream Mode – This is basically a story mode for the other playable characters
Challenge Mode – Play against a continuous wave of enemies, it acts like a Survival Mode
Introduction Mode – Those new to the game can play this, it’s basically a Tutorial Mode
Gallery – This mode lets you view photos, renders, music and movies unlocked during playing the game’s modes
Options pretty much speaks for itself, alter sound, controls, enable health gauges, translations of voices from English to Japanese and alter the level of blood and gore
The game is released in Europe on November 5th 2010 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, with an American release possibly around the same date
If your a fan of the anime series or a DW/SW fan, this game is one for you and even if you haven’t even heard of it before, it’s worth having a crack at when it is released.
In the wise words of Kenshiro….. “You’re Already Dead!”
Fist Of The North Star Game Notes

An update on Hokuto Musou coming to Europe:
- The logo you see is the official title for the English version of the game, Fist Of The North Star: Ken’s Rage
- It will be released in Europe is still TBA but rumours suggest is out in mid/late September
- It will be for both Xbox 360 and PS3
- Possible DLCs for it are still unknown
- Optional Japanese voice overs will be available so you can switch voices between English and Japanese, a good thing for the fans of the series
- Its been told that the AI in the European version will be improved but that could mean anything really
- The amount of blood and violence in the game has greatly increased, making this possibly a 15/18 age rating
- Legend Mode is basically the story mode of the game
- Dream Mode is like Legend Mode but this lets you witness the story of other characters
- Challenge Mode works just like most survival modes really
- Introduction Mode is technically a training mode for beginners to the game
- Gallery and Settings are self-explanatory
I hope this information answers a few questions.
